Alabama Pug Rescue and Adoption, Inc. will make every attempt to provide for all Pugs referred regardless of age, temperament and/or medical condition. "APRA" also welcomes the referral of healthy Pugs in the need of rehoming due to life changes. Rescues are placed in the loving homes of volunteers where they are assessed for personality, and then carefully matched to a home that will provide only the very best. In the event a foster home is not available at the time a referral is made "APRA" will assist in locating an alternative for the referring family or organization, or ask that dog be held until such a time a place becomes available. Pug mixes are also often an important part of our rescue. All Pugs and Pug mixes are spayed/neutered before placement, vaccinations are current and all known medical conditions are addressed and treated as appropriate. Rescue and placement is not limited to Alabama.
At Alabama Pug Rescue and Adoption, Inc. we rescue for the life of the dog. No stone is left unturned in assuring the best possible future for the family adopting, and most importantly for the dog being placed. A lengthy screening and education process is done before an application is approved. An adoption contract is completed and post-placement follow up is done. An adoption fee is charged to cover the tremendous veterinary expenses incurred by APRA.
Note: APRA does not ship or transport our rescues. If you are long distance and considering adoption, please note that upon approval of a rescue Pug, you must make arrangements to travel to the area in which the Pug is located.
